Following the publication of his Burton Road Sketchbook, local artist Len Grant has made Withington Village the subject of a new 12-page zine.

Inspired by street art project, Withington Walls, for which Len designed a mural on a doctors’ surgery, he’s called his new publication, Off the Walls.

“Walking and cycling through Withington, you can’t help be blown away by all the amazing artwork on pretty much every shop shutter, wall, hoarding and telecoms cabinet,” he says. “I wanted to add some of my sketches to all that creativity.”

The A4 publication features 11 of his trademark urban sketches of the Manchester suburb. He’s drawn pubs, cafés, shops and the recently-restored community asset that is Withington Baths. “I couldn’t include everything and this is only issue 1. If it goes down well, I hope to publish further editions as I draw more places.”
